EKATO

Anniversaries honored in December 2019

Together the three Employees are with EKATO for 130 years

According to Dirk Harscher, Mayor of the City Schopfheim, working at the same company from training to retirement is “something special“ these days.

Georg Linsin has been with EKATO for 50 years and although he could retire at 66, he likes to continue working. He couldn´t come to the small ceremony with Mayor Dirk Harscher, however, production manager Andreas Wöhrle promised that the honor will be rescheduled in the large group of employees. Thomas Mutter and Jürgen Wisniewski have already received their certificate signed by Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg Winfried Kretschmann for their 40 years at EKATO. Both started their apprenticeship as machine fitter together in 1979 and are now among the valued specialists of the family business which is run by Philipp Todtenhaupt in the third generation. Georg Linsin and Thomas Mutter are particularly well versed in a wide variety of lathes, Mutter also in programming. Jürgen Wisniewski took his master´s examination in 1989 and changed frequently in the departments. Thanks to his numerous suggestions, numerous product improvements could be achieved.

«EKATO can count itself lucky to have such employees», said the management. Both anniversaries appreciate the freedom in the company and wish to continue there until retirement to be busy. Since the Agitators have represented a future-proof industry, EKATO is still growing, is building a new office building and is looking for more space for expansion – preferably in Schopfheim.

EKATO was founded in Düsseldorf in 1933. In 1943, the company moved to Schopfheim, initially to the old dyeing factory on the main street. Meanwhile, there are now three factories, with EKATO RMT, EKATO Systems in Schopfheim and EKATO Fluid in Hauingen. Mainly chemical agitators are manufactured. PET-bottles, ski jackets and liqiud crystals on the television screen are all initially liquid in production – «there we stir», said the manager.
