Success Stories

After a tour around the company, during a visit by our school class, it was clear to me that this is where I would like to be involved in one day. Thereupon I applied for the DHBW business administration study program. During my studies I was already allowed to work on projects and since my graduation I have been leading my own projects in the field of material management. I am enthusiastic about redesigning processes to become more efficient together. With the position as team leader, EKATO gave me the platform to put this enthusiasm into practice. During my 4 week study visit in China, I was allowed to visit suppliers as well as end customers. Everywhere I went, EKATO was praised for its quality. I was particularly fascinated by the fact that every department in the entire process chain is working at top performance to achieve the common goal of customer satisfaction. EKATO is a very international company which is constantly developing. Due to the location there are many regional employees and I am proud to have become a part of this family.
It was clear to me that I wanted a combination of theory and practice after I graduated from school. With the dual study program at EKATO I was able to experience the best of both worlds. While I was taught subjects such as technical mechanics, business administration and technical sales by former industry-experts at the university, I went through the various departments like sales, purchasing and order management in the company. Afterwards, I was given the opportunity to start in the sales department. Together with my colleagues, I convert customer requirements into technical solutions. In order to provide our customers the best possible technical advice and support, EKATO invests not only in research and development but also in the training and further education of the employees. In this context, I personally was given the opportunity to pursue a part-time master's degree course.
I started my apprenticeship at the EKATO Rühr- und Mischtechnik GmbH in 2012, as an information technology officer and was then transferred to the IT-infrastructure team. Here I am responsible for the operation of more than 200 servers, among many other task. These also include providing IT-technical support to the more than 800 employees worldwide. I really appreciate that I am given a lot of creative freedom in my work and that the decision-making processes are short. The flexitime model makes it easy for me to balance my private life and work. It is very important to EKATO that the employees regularly take part in further trainings and education. Therefore EKATO aims to offer specific further education and training.
After finishing secondary school and attending a 1-year vocational school in the field of metal engineering, I completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic at EKATO, with subsequent employment as a CNC-milling cutter. After my apprenticeship, I completed two training courses in CNC-programming on behalf of EKATO, in cooperation with the companies Heidenhain GmbH and GROB Maschinenbau Werke GmbH & Co.KG. Thereupon I was offered my current position as CNC-programmer. I appreciate these new challenges, the very good relationship to my superiors and the company's support.
I started my apprenticeship as a machinist at EKATO in 1979. After the apprenticeship I was taken over for a quarter of a year, due to the order situation. As the order situation improved, I received a permanent contract in the production department. In 1990 I even was allowed to participate in the planning of the new production facilities. In more than 40 years at EKATO, it has always been particularly positive for me that safety at work is a top priority and that the decision-making processes from planning to implementation are kept short.
After successfully finishing school I started an apprenticeship as a specialist for metal technology at EKATO, which I became aware of while researching the internet. EKATO gives all applicants the same chance to start with them, without any prejudices. There is a good working atmosphere and in case of problems you can simply turn to the employees and count on their help.
Since September 2018, I have been part of EKATO, where I am currently doing an apprenticeship as an industrial business management assistant. Here I work for several departments, such as marketing, sales, order processing, purchasing, financial accounting and human resources. During this time I get to know the activities of the employees and gain an overview of the processes within an industrial company. At the beginning of my apprenticeship, I was given the opportunity to take part in a training course of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, to become a training ambassador. This enables me to present my training profession and the company EKATO in schools.
After graduating from school I applied for an apprenticeship at EKATO to become an industrial business management assistant. During the training I went through all relevant departments until I was assigned to the marketing department towards the end of the training period. This gave me a good overview of the processes within the company before I was assigned to my final department. After the apprenticeship I even was allowed to visit our subsidiary in the USA for 3 weeks, which was really interesting and exiting for me. Since EKATO pays great attention to the individual support and further training of the employees, I was given the opportunity to start a dual study program in the field of Business Administration after finishing my apprenticeship. This course of studies had so far not been offered by EKATO and I am therefore very grateful that self-initiative is not only listened to, but also is realized. Furthermore, I am a part of the youth and trainee representation of EKATO. We organize excursions, hold meetings and are contact persons for trainees and students to represent their interests in the company.
I have been working as an apprentice at EKATO since September 2018 and am doing an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic. I applied to EKATO because the company was recommended to me by a friend as a very good training company. The company is very family-oriented, which creates a pleasant working atmosphere and friendly interaction between the employees. As a trainee, it is especially great for me that the employees are always friendly and very helpful, even towards the "newbies". This makes it much easier for me to get started in my professional life.
After finishing secondary school I started my apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic at EKATO. A friend of mine, who has been working at EKATO for some time, recommended me to apply here. At EKATO, there is a good cohesion between the trainees and everything is well organized. The trainees are always treated well and respectfully. The friendly and always helpful interaction between the trainees as well as with the other employees is clearly to be emphasized.
