Free-flowing products
Free-flowing products are thoroughly blended in the SOLIDMIX mixer for solids. The agitator designs are adapted to suit the process duty and circulate the entire quantity of product without leaving any unmixed dead spaces.

Typical applications include the mixing or batch-blending of additives, agrochemicals, ashes, fertilizers, dyestuffs, fine chemicals, coffee beans, cocoa, plastic granules, metal powders, milk powder, minerals, pigments, salts, vitamins, detergents and active pharmaceutical ingredients, to name but a few. The high degree of homogeneity is confirmed by pilot-scale testing and guaranteed by SOLIDMIX for your commercial-scale production unit.

Vertical mixers for solids blend the product gently at moderate shaft speeds. The EKATO PARAVISC for solids agitator ensures intensive axial and radial mass transfer. Even at low product levels and during product discharge the mixture therefore remains homogeneous. The vessel geometry with the discharge opening at the lowest point means that the unit can be almost completely emptied.

Flexibility is a requirement that is frequently specified for agitator systems. Various steps in the mixing process, starting from solid material and passing through cohesive phases to the final aqueous solution, must be performed in one unit. The EKATO VPM vertical process mixer with its patented ISOPAS agitator offers the required flexibility.

To achieve this flexibility, a rugged construction is necessary, together with precision manufacture to ensure that the impeller can work at a close clearance from the vessel wall. This close clearance improves any heat transfer that may be necessary and minimizes the build-up of product on the vessel wall.
