Free-flowing products
Materials dewatered mechanically in an initial step such as a centrifuge or filter press often need their moisture content reduced to a significantly lower level. The EKATO VST vertical dryer for solids with its patented EKATO PARAVISC for solids agitator offers an efficient and flexible vacuum contact drying system for duties of this type.

The EKATO VST excels with its rugged construction, its agitator geometry optimized for the process and the precision manufacture of its individual components, from the smallest 100-liter unit upward. A close clearance between the impeller and the vessel wall improves the necessary heat transfer and minimizes the build-up of product on the wall.
The vessel geometry with the discharge opening at the lowest point means that the unit can be almost completely emptied.


Cohesive products
EKATO VPT vertical process dryers convert products with problematic flow characteristics or pronounced transition phases during the drying process into free-flowing solid end products. The patented EKATO ISOPAS impeller acting in conjunction with a baffle ensures thorough mixing and uniform recirculation of the product, even when this has a viscous paste-like consistency or is lumpy.

Typical applications include the drying of active pharmaceutical ingredients, chemicals, pigments or foodstuffs that are initially in liquid form or have a viscous doughy consistency, or any physical state in between.
