Reactions such as those that take place in polymerization processes require precisely controlled homogeneous conditions to achieve a high-quality product. Reactors for world-scale units reach sizes in which it is hardly possible to achieve an absolute homogeneity.

By using highly efficient axially pumping impellers it is however possible to achieve flow behaviors that are comparable to those of a virtual draft tube concept.

In this way a fast and complete blending can be attained even in tall, slender vessels.
