Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

CFD is an excellent design tool which helps understand the complex flow processes in the agitator vessel. Simulation and experience are not mutually exclusive at EKATO but complement each other to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the process.

For example Computational Fluid Dynamics can be used as follows:

  • To understand the flow behavior with pronounced asymmetrical arrangements even under continuous operating conditions
  • To optimize the agitator geometry
  • To determine local turbulent shear stresses (shear stress of particles)
  • Computation of local heat transfer coefficients of tube bundles
